I planned of using an image of Safa and Yusra in the mirror as the image for my front cover. We took a few images of this, but there were two that i couldn't decide between (shown below)
In the end, i decided to use the image on the left because Safa wasn't right on the edge of the frame. I then chose this image and begun to edit it with different brightnesses and hues to make certain things stand out more than they do in the images.
I started off with the original image on the left, and started to change the brightness of the image to make it a bit darker than it already is. I made the wall in the background darker, as well as Safa. With Yusra, i was told that she wasn't very obvious. To make her more obvious, i increased the brightness and contrast, but i also changed the layer to black and white so that she looked more creepy.
I looked at a variety of different fonts to help me decide which would look the best on the poster for the short film. I looked through fonts that were both Serif, and Sans Serif so that I could judge which is the most appropriate. I even looked at some fonts on the internet so that I wasn’t just limited to certain fonts. Next to these are a few real fonts from posters that i used to help me
Short Film Poster

After looking through all these fonts I had decided that the font below would be the best for my short film poster as it looks as this font could actually be used on a horror film poster. I also looked at the word 'house' in the title 'The last house of the left' (shown above) and felt that the font i would use looks quites similar to this title.
In the images below, the image on the left made Yusra look like she was poorly edited onto the image. I thought that it looked too bright and made Yusra also look extremely out of place. I then blurred out Yusra's hair a bit more and also turned the brightness down to achieve a better effect.
In the image below i changed the credit box as i felt that the one i had used previously didn't look very realistic
After looking at my poster, I felt that the actors names needed to be changed, below is what they were changed to
Final Poster

When researching the colour scheme of a horror film poster, I searched 'horror film posters' into google and clicked on images. This allowed me to see a wide range of posters and pick out the main colour scheme theat was used for a film poster. Below is what came up when i searched this:
From this i could see that both black and white were common colours used in a horror film poster with the occasional red and blue. This allowed me to pick my own colour scheme as i can clearly tell which colours represent the horror genre.
