Red and blue lighting on the man’s suit shows he’s torn between robot indifference and what he’s supposed to be. Good side/dark side – conflicted character
Looks like the protagonist, but the gun makes him look like the antagonist
Because it says Robocop, we associate him with the protagonist – anchoring him with the title.
No direct address because he’s looking for an enemy and we’re not the enemy. Makes him look like he’s now human. Looks like he’s searching for criminals.
Background Image:
City based, with elements of the future. This links to the genre of sci-fi.
Text (Format, size, colour):
Looks like it’s been typed up this is associated with technology
Tag line:

Underscore represents the mask – both are red, shows he’s the enemy for everyone else.
Target Audience:
Surnames of the actors are used. This suggests that the audience is supposed to know who they are. The audience may not recognise first person so shows that he’s the main character.

The main image is of the main character in the film and links to the title of the film. The eyes of the main character really stand out and make the character look more evil because her eyes are both red and green. The colour red represents danger which makes the image look more effective. This film poster also uses direct address to make the character seem as if everybody surrounding her is an enemy of hers. However, it could also suggest that she’s quite scared of everyone else because her coat is covering some of her face.
The main character is also wearing red lipstick which links to her looking wicked, which allows the audience to work out that she is most likely the protagonist of the film. The text of the name of the film closely links to the image because the font used looks quite malevolent. The cover models face is the main thing that stands out on the page which draws the attention straight to her face
Film Poster analysis
As a class, we looked at two posters of different genres and analysed these so that we could see if there were any typical conventions in film posters. We looked at the films 'Bad Neighbours' and 'Robocop'.
